Toni Skelton, MSW
Tony Skelton, MSW is a graduate of Wayne State University where she received her Master's degree in Social Work. She is a licensed Medical Social Worker at Ascension Borgess Hospital where she specializes in the psychosocial and emotional care of patients hospitalized medical trauma and illnesses.
Ms. Skelton provides psychological assistance individuals across the lifespan who have emotional and behavioral difficulties. She specializes in the treatment of geriatric patients who may struggle with emotional difficulties associated with aging, and assists patients with adapting to memory difficulties in order to extend independent living. As a gerontological social worker, she also assists families whose loved ones struggle with mild cognitive impairment or dementia, and provides guidance with residential transitional planning from independent to assisted living. She is very experienced in the treatment of the elderly who struggle with depression and anxiety, acute and persistent stress, relationship concerns, managing memory difficulties, grief, and bereavement.
Given that many of her patients are elderly Ms. Skelton has flexible hours and provides assistance in the afternoon and early evening hours.
